Pirelli World Challenge “State of the Series” Meeting set for Friday at the PRI Show in Indy

After a Stellar 2016 Season, PWC Ready for Exciting 2017 Announcements

WC Vision, producers of the Pirelli World Challenge, will hold its annual “State of the Series” meeting this Friday (Dec. 9) at 2 p.m. ET at the PRI Show in the Indiana Convention Center (Rooms 208-209) for manufacturers, sponsors, teams and drivers.

As North America’s biggest GT Production-based road racing series, the Pirelli World Challenge  featured over 22 auto manufacturers and 38 separate models in its seven racing divisions – GT, GTA, GT Cup, GTS, Touring Car, TCA, TCB – and its 27th year produced one of the world’s most competitive GT production racing series.

WC Vision recently announced the 2017 Pirelli World Challenge schedule and class programs which includes the SprintX division that saw some of the most exciting racing in 2016 sports car competition. The SprintX class produced wild last-lap passes for overall victories at Utah Motorsports Campus and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

A variety of topics will be discussed in Friday’s PWC “State of the Series” including the expanded television schedule which will have four of the five GT/GTA/GT Cup sprint weekends with same-day television coverage on the CBS Sports Network.
